Used solution – Mobile and fixed number portability solution

Panama MNP and FNP
This process was initiated by ASEP, the Regulator of Panama. Requirements were part of the proposal, and delivery was according to specs in the proposal. Operators were involved, but specifications were discussed with ASEP.

Contract signed on the 14th of July, MNP live on the 29th of November 2011.

  • Telefonica Movistar
  • Cable&Wireless Panama
  • Claro
  • Digicel

The delivered system was custom made for the Panama market. Scanned documents are part of the Porting Request, and after a Blocked Request by the Donor Operator, Regulator ASEP checks if this is a valid blocking reason or not. If the blocking reason is not valid, ASEP can overrule and the order is authorised OK. Numbers are activated at night. Every Mobile order that is started before 5 pm, is activated that same night. Although not heavily involved in the choice, all operators were ready within 5 months at the going live date.

La Autoridad Nacional de los Servicios Publicos a recibido solicitud de PortingXS con el objeto de que se extienda una carta de referencia comercial.

El 14 de julio de 2011, PortingXS fue elegido por la Autoridad Nacional de los Servicios Publicos, Ente Regulador en la Republica de Panama para el suministro y puesta en marcha de la Portabilidad Numerica en el pais, proporcionando una Entidad de Referencia para la communicacion entre los operadores.

La Portabilidad en la Red Movil fue puesta en produccion en Panama el 29 de noviembre de 2011, posteriormente se implemento la Portabilidad Numerica en la Red. Fija el 13 de febrero de 2012.

Cabe indicar que la solucion implementada por PortingXS nos ha demostrado su flexibilidad y versatilidad del sistema para adaptarse a nuestras neccesidades. Ademas del apoyo brindado por PortingXS para lograr el éxito del lanzamiento de la Portabilidad Numerica, por lo cual la Autoridad Nacional de los Servicios Publicos no tiene ninguna reserva en recomendar a PortingXS.
