Brazilians changed operator, maintaining their fixed or mobile number, 1.61 million times in July, August and September, according to the quarterly report of ABRTelecom (Brazilian Association of Telecommunications Resources).
Of the total, 387,860 (24%) of the migrations were made by fixed telephony users and 1.22 million (76%) by mobile telephony users.
In the same period last year, 1.23 million operator changes were made. The data indicates that Brazil will surpass the number of ported numbers carried out in 2016 already in the month of October 2017.
Since the introduction of number portability in September 2008, 39.2 million migrations were made between operators. Of the total, 13.75 million (35%) of migrations were made by users of fixed telephones and 25.43 million (65%) by mobile phone users.
